Unconditional Support during the most transformative time of your life

What is a Doula?

Doulas do not replace the support network you already have in place. They simply add to it. Providing unmatched care, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. We are not medically trained to deliver babies, but instead provide support for you and your partner(if any) and your baby/family during this time. We provide counsel, natural pain relief techniques, help with self advocacy, help you prepare for birth, help manage any fears and anxieties, support you during labour, help with chest feeding, cook, clean, help care for baby and the list goes on. Make your pregnancy, birth and parenthood a time of true peace

Welcome Everyone who has wandered here.

My name is Molly and this is my passion. After experiencing a traumatic birth with my son, I found myself struggling with Post Partum Anxiety and Depression and thus became lost in the raging sea that new motherhood can be.  The added  adversities of being thousands of kilometres from my family during a pandemic made this transition even more difficult but at the end of the tunnel, not only did I see a light I found my calling.

After being a certified social service worker for nearly a decade, I'd thought I would take this skill and blend it together with what my heart was telling me - thus began We The Wild.

This is parenthood done differently. This disconnected, isolating experience that has become motherhood in the western world is  relatively new. Up until the 20th century, mothers were mothered by members of their family and community. It was a universal truth that becoming a parent was not only a transcending and transformational  experience - it was hard. You needed a village and it was common practice to the mother to simply focus on this process. This new view that parents must carry the burden of it all, that it is weak or shameful to need help and connection and that it is taboo to admit the struggles that we feel as human beings, is disconnecting us and blurs our vision of our authentic selves.  It's time that changed.

This is a community of no judgement, acceptance, understanding and support. Welcome.

We the Wild is the intergenerational connection with our ancestors. The ones who guide us, the ones who whisper universal knowledge and love. We the Wild is the humans who howl at the moon, that see stories in fires and secrets in stones. We the Wild is the sacred sister/brother hood of all that see the world for what it truly is. Magic.

Love and light to you all,

Molly.

We will forever be grateful for Molly to have been a part of our birth experience! She made sure that all of us were taken care of from our first visit all the way into postpartum. During our birth Molly was hands on and advocated our wants and needs as well as offered unreal partner support when things became challenging. Molly had a way with her words to make us feel at ease and that we weren’t alone, by offering personal experience and humour throughout.

I had such a positive experience using Molly as my doula. She was such a great support during the hardest thing I’ve ever done of birthing a human. During my labour she helped with my discomfort by providing different ways to relieve my pain and supported my partner on how to best support me during the labour process. She kept me positive and would advocate for me when the situation required it. Following my labour she helped with my postpartum care by allowing me time to nap while she watched my newborn as well as tidying my house, checking in on my postpartum status and cooking meals for me to eat after she left. Everything she did for me and my family made a time that is super overwhelming made a lot easier and I am beyond grateful for her.
